Mr. Stemberger joined Manelli Selter PLLC as a partner in March 1997.
Prior to joining Manelli Selter, Mr. Stemberger was an attorney with Cushman Darby & Cushman, (now Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP).
Mr. Stemberger has drafted and prosecuted numerous utility and design patent applications covering a broad range of mechanical, mechanical/electrical, semiconductors and medical devices. He has significant experience in preparing applications relating to automotive equipment and power operated tools.
Mr. Stemberger’s work also involves preparing patentability, validity and infringement opinions, and providing counsel to clients regarding intellectual property issues. He has prepared briefs and has successfully argued before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Board of Appeals.
He received his J.D. degree from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University in 1991 and earned his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton in 1986.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Stemberger was employed at Bailey Controls Company in Wickliffe, Ohio as a mechanical engineer in the Product Development Engineering Department. During five years at Bailey Controls, he gained significant experience in the design and manufacture of process control instrumentation including positioning devices, flow meters and pressure sensing devices. At Bailey Controls, he was elevated to Group Manager of the mechanical engineering group, supervising the work of engineers.
He is admitted to the Ohio and District of Columbia bars and is registered to practice before the USPTO. He is also a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.
